New carpets fitted today at DC Trim!
Discussion
After the last owner of the car suffered a major water leak, I've put up with musty and badly faded (dammit - they were pink!!) carpets since I bought in January. I've had more important jobs to sort first, but I dropped the car off at DC Trim in Blackpool last week, and had a complete new carpet set fitted, and the steering wheel recovered in red leather.
To say I'm pleased is a bit of an understatement! Some before pics, and the after is just before I picked it up this morning.

I'm going back later in the year to have the seats re-foamed and re-covered with cream and red leather to match (after seeing Phil fog66's car ). I have to say that Dave & Chris up there are two seriously top blokes - truly dedicated and enthusiastic about their work and TVRs. I did look at couple of other trimmers more local to me, but I could not ignore the quality ad value of their work, and it was well worth the trip up there.
A new hood is being fitted at Shaw Windridge in two weeks - the current one is well past it's best!

Mr Nordic - dropped it off last Saturday, picked it up this Saturday, but they were working on it over 3-4 days. The seats will be a similar time scale.
Daz - there is a thick black mesh material (like sound-deadening) underneath the carpets, and a sticky foam rubber type of backing under the footwell carpets. The carpets are cut from a template, then the piping stitched on. I'm pretty sure if you call them up, they'll be able to do that - they have had a pair of seats sent to them by courier for covering, so seem very flexible.
Johno - including the steering wheel, door cards and new door/targa seals all round it was £850. The seats will be around the same. A full interior (carpets, dash, tunnel, doors, seats, roof hoop is about £3-3.5k.
I'll get more piccys of the finsihed when I am back home, and given it a vacuum - there's a lot of red fluff in it at the moment.

Steve,
Do you mind me asking what you have been quoted at Shaw Windridge for the new roof as I'm looking at prices for my new roof at the moment. The original has now got "stitch rot" big time and needs doing this summer.
Oh, and where are they located.
Cheers.
Paul.
£590+ VAT - it goes in tomorrow morning.Do you mind me asking what you have been quoted at Shaw Windridge for the new roof as I'm looking at prices for my new roof at the moment. The original has now got "stitch rot" big time and needs doing this summer.

They are in Kings Heath, Birmingham - near the cadburys factory I believe, but I'm putting my trust in Satnav!

Steve the carpets look great, I think your existing carpets were the same colour as my originals too. You won't be disappointed when you have your seats done either. As you've already said Chris and Dave know what they are doing, big up Tracey on the sewing machine too!! Steering whhels are here favourite...A new hood is being fitted at Shaw Windridge in two weeks - the current one is well past it's best!
Look forward to seeing the seats when you have them done.
Cheers

A bit late but some piccys as promised.
The carpets, steering wheel and new door/boot/roof seals were £850 all in, and the hood was £590+vat. Both jobs were dropped off on a Saturday, and collected the following weekend, but that was mainly to fit with my availability. Carpets and steering wheel is a 4-5 day job, and the hood was done in 3. The seats have been scrubbed up and conditioned courtesy of the JML Magic Eraser & Autoglym.
