The hunt for my first Fezza........
Discussion
Went out today for a general nosey at a couple of cars.....and whilst at Verdi I stumbled across a Rosso with black 1979 308 GTB tucked away in the darkness at the back. Didn't see it out in the open but with the aid of a power pack it started first time....and to say the idle was smooth would be an understatement!
The interior is absolutely mint...but was very aware of Karl being a good at talking the talk....although he did seem to get his wires crossed a bit between the two 308's that he has.
Additionally there's a lovely looking black with crema 308 GTS QV (1984) at Nick Cartrights which I am also very tempted in going to see.
So please help; has anyone any knowledge of either of these cars and also what do people feel is the better version of the car. Also any comments on experience with the dealers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help,

Nick C is often way over priced though. He will argue that his car's are the best prep'ed and thoroughly checked over, but I know two people who have bought cars from him and to have problems quite soon afterwards. NC only gives a 3 month warranty with his stock.

The test of a company is not the problems you have with them but how they resolve them.
I paid over the odds for my F355 but when I picked the car up it was like it had just come out of the factory - that's quite impressive for a 10 year old car. I viewed quite a few before buying mine and Nick/Ben instantly made me feel comfortable whereas others did not.
some people think paying 10% over book value is insane - others think buying any 10 year old car for £40k is insane. Most people just think i'm insane cause I had a Giallo Fly 355 repainted in Grigio Titanium. Each to his own - i'd certainly buy it again tomorrow for the same price if I had to. My life's motto is "It's better to regret something you DID do, than something you DIDN'T do".

Thanks in advance for your help,
I've just bought a car from Nick Cartwright, although i did most of the dealings with Ben and I can highly recommend them. They were very friendly and helpful and although I didn't get an absolute bargain I don't care. I would rather pay more and get a better service and car than save a little bit of money. I haven't even dealt with Verdi but from what I've heard they are good. Karl only offers a 3month verbal 'My Word' warranty with his sales too.....
For what it's worth, I brought my 550 WSR from Verdi's over two years ago, where Karl committed to paper what he would fix - which he honoured. He also remedied other minor cosmetic issues (me being anal) whislt undertaking the remediation work. He has subsequantly performed other work for me (pre and post track work) and has yet to let me down. I would have no hesitation is recommending Verdi's - including the warrantee.
PS - I wished he paid me for this!

I bought my 328GTS off Nick and I have to stay I was very impressed with my dealings with him and Ben. Ben emailed me photo's of my car as it was being detailed and the finish was beautiful. I did have an issue with a noise on the steering that Nick immediately sorted out-with no quibbles! Good luck. Post pics when you decide!!
