Mark, they're bullet proof. Get it serviced every 5 years and it'll last longer than you.....
What colour dial do you want?

Absolutely no idea about them but I think they're the best looking Rolex model because they don't have stupid hands.

I got one about 3 years ago in blue, I chose it because it was light and great to wear with anything.
Since owning it I have had no problem with it what so ever and its worn pretty well (clasp has picked up a few scratches but I thats happened to all my watches), and I still think its a timeless design even amongst my others.

Really nice classy watch, you won't be dissapointed, IMO

Totally agree with all of the above.

My daily wearer is an Air King in S/S. I've had it since new for 11 years and had no problems whatsoever.

I also have a 1973 Air King in 14k which again has caused no real problems. The main spring had to be replaced recently but hey it's 35 years old!

There is 20 odd years between the 2 watches and they are effectively the same. The biggest difference is the bracelet which is much thinner on the older watch. Both look great.

AFAIK its still silver, salmon and blue, at one time you could get rolex to change them if you so fancied, don't know if they still offer that service or not.

Mine had a Bezel i hadnt seen on the website so there are a few variations on it out there.

Time zone is a good place to find whats available.

I'd agree with the comments above, I've had one for 10 years, worn it every day, never even had it serviced, has been perfect.

Paid £1215 for it in 1999, was offered £900 for it a few weeks ago.

I think they're pretty little things, and they're on The List (oh dear, it's an ever-growing list, too) of Watches That I Must Own One Day.

Here's a picture I found on the internet. Note the clear, unfussy dial. Slightly disappointing to see the "ROLEXROLEXROLEX" rehaut, but hey ho.

I bought this Air King a couple of years ago - s/s with salmon dial.

It's a lovely, simple design & very understated. The salmon dial may not be to everyone's taste but I really like it and wear it often. Whichever combination you choose I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
