Hi all,

would appreciate some info and advice please? I drove a 08 330d Sport today and really enjoyed it,the salesman told me that the engine on these cars received an upgrade from the 58 plate which means an extra 20bhp. Does this sound right and were there any other changes made which would make the later car a better bet than the one I drove? After driving a lot of different cars have pretty much settled on getting one of these but not in a hurry and could wait til later in the year to buy a 58 plate
All,any info very much appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve.

All the info you need is probably buried on this very forum if you can be arsed using the search. For example this thread has some of the info you want (about half way down the first page - ignore my ramblings at the top).

BTW - why not a 272ps 330i ? Very low emmissions, amazing economy, cheaper to buy, petrol is cheaper than diesel... Just a thought wink

Hi Dib,

Thanks for that, loads of useful info via the link that you pointed me to! I did consider the petrol version and it would probably make more financial sense just now as I am only covering around 10k miles a year, but my job situation could easily change soon (like too many of us )whether I like it or not and my mileage could double or even triple,so will probably err on the side of caution as I think the diesel will be better for higher mileages,Still very tempting though!

Cheers Mate

Well you cant blame me for trying ! Reality is petrol and diesel versions are both bloody good cars.

If I was you I'd just go ahead and get the best you can afford right now - I had to stretch a bit to afford a 272ps version of the petrol but in hindsight the older version of the car would have been 98% the same car. There will always be something tempting which is maybe just out of reach...

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers Dib,

Have pretty much decided on 330d Sport and can probably (just!) afford a 58 plate if I sell a kidney and sell one of my kids into slavery! ,I fancy the Titanium silver with coral interior, rear tints and double spoke alloys. Any thoughts on what additional spec I should look for as being "essential" with a view to trade-in time?

Regards
