Immobiliser, why?
Discussion
Just got back from Chatsworth and for the first time ever it wouldn't start to put it back in the garage. Fuel pump primed when I pressed the plipper but then, nothing.
If I set the alarm and waved my arm inside the cabin the sensors triggered and the indicators flashed once but the alarm didn't go off ergo it must have been the immobiliser.
Disconnecting the battery reset it instantly but why would it just be a t
t for no apparent reason? I've got a spanner in the boot in case it happens again but I'd rather not have to fret about it if there's something I can check.

Without it, the immobiliser is passing current beyond its rating and that eventually does for that channel in the immobiliser module.
If it does it again, whack the dash top on the passenger side; you might find that jars it back into action

Cheers BB, that fuse certainly looks easier than disconnecting the battery...
Not certain this is a 'hot start' issue though.
A) The car had been sat a couple of hours and was barely warm.
B) The alarm 'tripped' with cabin intrusion yet didn't sound. It flashed the indicators once instead.
C) Rebooting the immobiliser cured the problem immediately.
