Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo
Discussion
Hello guys GTO owner from North Lanarkshire. I just wanted to know what you guys think of the GTO Twin Turbo. I bought one a few months back its a 1992 Jap Import in Black. Unmolested model the only change from standard is a decent exhaust. I know the 3000 got a bit of a slating on here a few months back but to be honest I cant fault my car. Everything works - all the electrics and gadgets and gizmos. There isnt a single rust bubble anywhere on the car even the arches are mint. I also find the car quite econimical for a 3000cc with 2 turbos strapped to it. Obviously it will drink more the heavier your foot goes but I can find myself using £20 petrol a week communting to work and back. OK I live 10 minutes from work but its not £1 per lampost as someone once asked ha ha .
Ive only seen one other in god knows how long and thats a MkII belonging to one of the local lads from Clan Japan. I find people look wondering what the hell the car is and wee boys give you the thumbs up as you drive past. 17 year old car and still getting attention cant be bad. My MOT is due in August and for once I am not dreading it.
I change my cars on average of 3 times a year. I call it a hobby as I dont smoke , dont follow football, not a pub goer guess you would call me a petrol head ha ha . I usually swap my cars or swap with a few hundred quid as I learnt years ago I can have a lot of fun without parting with hundreds every month in HP payments and giving the bar stewards thousands in interest too.
To this Ive been looking to see what I can get offered in a swap locally - out of curiosity as the GTO came my way out of the blue in the same manner - would you believe it gets very little interest - or I get offered Volvo estates worth £500 ? ?
Lets hear your thoughts on this model . . . . . .
