Hi all, looking to cut & bond a strip of plastic to cover the arc of warning lights in the S, akin to S2s, as I dont like the existing one at all. But, where oh where can I buy suitable plastic?
cheers

Hi Ed

Find a guy called Green Meanie on the Griff forum. He's made some new MIL panels for us and is in the process of making replacement lower switch panels for us pre-cat owners. He may be able to help you.

On My S2 I had the opposite problem, the warning lights were almost invisible through the smoked plastic. But I did have a problem with the 'heads up display' from the main gauges, and my solution to that was to push some 'eyebrow' shaped shades between the top of the gauges and the dash. I made them from a plastic drink bottle dusted over with black spray paint, adjusting the amount until I got the darkness I wanted. Perhaps a similar approach could be used to create your warning light cover from clear plastic?

Ray S changed all the dial lights to amber - there's still a little reflection in the windscreen, but I dont really notice it. Seem to recall was stronger in the Griffith so I used to switch them off, but then the button became temperamental so I gave up on that.

Back to the arc of warning lights in the S, with no cover they're too bright. As semi opaque cover would be good. There's a larger separate light for indicators, which is handy.

Hi EdT

Just received your E.Mail,I am afraid that I do not know what the panel on the S looks like please excuse my ignorance.

Does it have symbols on it as per the Griffith or is it just plain black and the warning lights are different colours?

Has it a shiny black finish or matt, and I seem to remember is curved is it not.

Righto.. any recommendations for most suitable adhesive? Was going to try EVO impact, as I usually do, but happy to take any advice.
The strip comes flat so needs a bend to fit flush with the dash - so adhesive needs to be strong enough to cope with that.
