EnerSys Energy Products Inc. (“Manufacturer”) warrants its ODYSSEY® batteries (hereafter referred to as “Battery”) to be free of defects in material and workmanship for the earlier of (a) the Applicable Warranty Period or (b) within 400 cycles to 80% depth of discharge, whichever occurs first. The Applicable Warranty Period is two (2) years for power sports applications; three (3) years in automotive, marine, commercial, and industrial applications; and four (4) years in the case of the 75/86-PC1230, 25-PC1400, 35-PC1400, 34-PC1500, 34M-PC1500, 34/78-PC1500, 65-PC1750, 31-PC2150, 31M-PC2150 and PC2250 batteries. The Applicable Warranty Period begins from the date of purchase with original receipt, or, if no receipt is available, from Manufacturer’s shipping date. Within the Applicable Warranty Period, the Battery will be replaced free of charge if adjustment is necessary due to defect in material or workmanship (not merely discharged). Simply return the Battery to any authorized ODYSSEY battery dealer with the original receipt for a replacement. This warranty may vary from country to country; contact your authorized ODYSSEY battery wholesaler or dealer for the applicable warranty.
GENERAL PROVISIONS:
Manufacturer has no obligation under the limited warranty set forth above in the event the Battery is damaged or destroyed as a result of one or more of the following:
• Willful abuse or neglect or if the top decorative cover has been removed.
• Natural forces such as wind, lightning, hail; damage due to fire, collision, explosion, vandalism, theft, penetration or opening of the Battery case in any manner.
• Overcharging, undercharging, charging or installing in reverse polarity, improper maintenance, allowing the Battery to be deeply discharged via a parasitic load or mishandling of the Battery such as but not limited to using the terminals for lifting or carrying the Battery. Trickle chargers that do not have a regulated trickle charge voltage between 13.5V and 13.8V (no lower than 13.5V and no higher than 13.8V) will cause early failure of the Battery. Use of such chargers with the Battery will also void the Battery’s warranty.
• Failure to properly install the Battery or lack of metal jacket for high temperature or vibration applications.
• Normal deterioration in the electrical qualities or the acceleration of such
deterioration due to conditions that accelerate such deterioration.
• If the Battery is used for an application that requires higher cranking power or a greater reserve rating than the Battery is designed to deliver, or the Battery capacity is less than the Battery capacity specified by the vehicle manufacturer, or the Battery is otherwise used in applications for which it was not designed

Glad you raised, this i saw one for sale on ebay earlier last week.
Im not at that stage of the build yet, is everyone using the same batteries?
If not what spec do i need to search for. I have many client who manufacturer car batteries im sure i can get a good deal maybe more if anyone needs them.

No particular fetish with Odessy. batteries I have pc 925 its been in service since aug 07 so far so good. The problem with a 925 rather then the 625 called for is that the terminals are on the side facing forward towards the steering rack. I overcame this by placing the bat on a inch thick piece of hardwood which raised the terminals high enough to avoid the rack. Just another option. Lee
It's not just Odessy, but Optima and any of the gel cell or AGM (Abosrbed glass mat) batteries suffer if deep discharged. Ideally they should not fall below 50% charge and often if you have high demand and/or a std amperage alternator the charging rate on a drive is not enough to replenish them. If they ever get fuly discharged then their life is reduced to something like 300 cycles. The answer is to use an intelligent battery charger like the CTEK, Deltran or similar. (The CTEK is out of Sweden and consitently achieves the highest consumer ratings)
I have one of the small Deltran units that permanently attaches to battery, just a case of plug it into the extension cord when I get home.

My Odyssey is getting a bit tired as it is probably about 6 years old now.
I contacted the supplier (Knight batteries) with a view to getting a new one. I told him I use the Accumate charger but that I had forgotten it sometimes and allowed it to go flat. He said I should use my 6amp normal car charger and give it a good blast. Remains to be seen if that wakes it up. From the readings on the charger it took the charge and reduce the amps over time as you would expect so we will see how it goes.
In the mean time I am looking at ways of fitting either a second battery or a bigger one as the EFI stuff is going to increase the use somewhat. The pump alone will add 12.5 Amps.

had to bite the bullet and buy odessey number three, the rules appear to be
1 use the correct sort of charger. "ctek" rule apparently for this type of battery.
2 ensure that the battery is fully charged before a lay up, or standing.
I've also had a long running problem with voltage drop when the ac is on that isn't helping. I always turn ac off before the end of the journey. I must resolve this wiring issue to stop loads on the battery. I think this is common fault on earlier cars.
Must recommend battery services in leicester 0116 2741400, very helpful chaps.
