Dash lighting!

Has anybody changed the bog standard green lighting inside?? As i am interested in changing mine but not sure how simple or whats involved, interested to see if people have and to what sucess

There's been a few topics about changing the dash instrument led's on the Pontiac GTO site (ls1gto.com) Fair bit of work and expense involved I think.

Slightly off topic, but I had a beetle (or something) trapped inside the centre LCD display which used to walk around behind the panel itself. Initially I thought the dark blob was an issue with the display, until it started moving!

I think it died after a few days.

On a similar vein, but not to do with the green lighting.

The centre LCD on my 04 CV8 display has suddenly become a lot dimmer than the outer 2 - This is not the green backlighting, but the contrast of the black LCD segments against the background. So even in daylight, the segments in this display are a dull grey as opposed to a crisp black on the 2 either side.

Probably a duff driver or a dry joint on the dash PCB, so looks like a dash dismantling job...

Anyone seen this on theirs?
