HKS entry list is at www.eurodragster.com/santapod/live/2009ptmshow

King of Europe entry list is at www.kingofeurope.net, go to the Drag section and select Registration. Scroll down the registration page and the entry list is there.

I will be there on Friday noon,
camping in the rental and taking pictures and info for DRAGRACER magazine.
I am a little disappointed with the short entry list,
I thought after the sometimes mediocre KOE tracks in the past years
the west/north european drivers would come in great numbers to Santa Pod,
to realize the full potentiel in their cars,
but it seems that some are reluctant because a) travel costs
and b) concern about the "drivetrain-killing traction", hmmmmm.....rolleyes
I think it is going to be great racing anyway, for those who enter(ed),
and it will come down to "UK against the rest" for the King titles ?
Maybe we see a few late "surprise" entries ?
I am also very interested in the HKS series and the "sport compact" cars,
so I am packing my stuff and hope to see some of you there.
Regards,
Benni

King of europe racers entry closes at 14.30pm on saturday. Like I have said on different websites, it who gets the win light not who's got the most power.

I am sure it will be a good race.

33x18x 15 ET streets and VP Q16 race fuel. 6's with the car are tough. The engine however would be no problem..lol
200 is the goal but with a no wheelie bar rule it'll be hard to accelerate fast enough at the start to be that fast at the finish.Friday we're going to have the bars on to find out what the max is without touching them, and to find out how fast it will be later in the season..

I spoke to Splinter last night and he said that he was not going to have enough time to get ready for the weekend.
This was not a easy decision for the team spending the weekend weighing up the situation.

OK, everything packed, 1 kilo too heavy (suitcase not me),
in 4,5 hrs the alarm clock rings, then up up and away.........biggrin
Look for some guy with a "who killed Kenny"-style (?) anorak,
red basecap, and photovest, trying to get his Canon DSLR to work,
that will be me.
Let´s hope for a good weekend of racing and gassing,
Benni

Bad news in testing today at the King of Europe west, Matt Wright takes out two pistons and could have damaged the head on his c10 truck, the procharger big block chevy can not be repaired for eliminations

Entering tomorrow after testing today, this awesome mopar.

Paul Bentley was trying some different things but the head wind today wasn't in the Nova's favour.

King of europe west entry is still open, remember it is not over until the fat lady sings

Well I was there, some racers were not,
some had reasons and some had "reasons".
I mean, when you will not race at the best track ever offered in KOE,
then you somehow have got this "Drag Racing" thing wrong ?
Some showed true spirit, like the italians doing a 1.000 mls journey,
and then blasting their pb into orbit with their tiny 1,4l R5 engine and FWD.
Turbo and nitrous-assisted, this "Mini-Monster" puts out 450 hp,
and "The Red Baron" went from 11.5 to 11.1 within 5 runs.
Or the dutch guys in KOE and RWYB with their battered nitrous Civics,
travelling 450 KM under own power, no trailers.
I think Andy is a true and righteous winner of KOE West,
furthermore his 7.8 record will stand the test of time,
future "Kings" will be measured against that (by me).
Nevertheless, it was a good weekend, with sunburn and all,
with interesting cars which I never saw on track before, in KOE and HKS and ESC.
Also good to see Tog, Lee, Frosty, Slinky, Novanut, trackday addicted John,
Matt Wright, Spencer, Kirstie, and other quartermile folks from here.
The "Livestyle" crowd was new for me,
a little different from the usual FIA audience, a lot younger and some a bit chavier,
but, hey, if only 2% of them grow up to be "real" racers, that can´t be bad ?
Amusing fact was that there was a posh Brabus K8 pushed into the pairing lanes,
and called back to signing in,
the cheeky owners tried to get track time without paying....rolleyes
I took Lee´s advice and left the pits Sunday evening heading for STN airport,
because Monday morning traffic can be unpredictable, slept in the rental car park.
Thanks to all, CU @ Main Event,
Benni

Interestingly North Weald Was rammed on sunday. Over subscribed at least twice,in fact it was sold out before 10 am. So its not a reccession thing. The travel issue is only one factor?
