Problems when cold

Hi there I own a 1999 318 (e46).Just latley at start up the idling revs are fine but it doesnt feel right it feels very lumpy you can actually feel the car vibrate slightly.And when I pull away there is a real lack of power and again it feels a bit jerky and lumpy.However once its warm its perfect.Any ideas?
