I quite like the idea of a well supported distance learning course. Becasue of work pressures it gives great flexibility...so wondered if anyone had a view on / experience of this particular course.

Hmmm... I'm more than a little sceptical about on-line courses like this.

Is there a camera club or evening class near you? You'll get a lot more for your £500 that way.

Fine if you want to:

a) spend a monkey
b) become a professional

For a distance course to fit round work and if you just want some fun/concentrate on better shots and simple processing/manipulation I cannot praise (for around 1/3rd the price) enough:

Certainly don't want to spend a monkey if I don't have to.

Open Unversity and Canon Seminars both look like good options.
