Can anyone suggest a good garage to take my BMW for a service??

Anywhere within 10 miles of St.Albans would be great..

Chambers & Gillies in Welwyn Village. David and Ian are the owner and mechanic. I can't recommend them highly enough. No connection just very good service.

Hi

Chambers & Gillies are my local and they are really good, honest all round mechanics.

For BMW though, give Claudio a call at Perfect Touch in Hoddesdon. It's 20mins drive from St Albans and those guys really know their BMW's.

They look after all my cars and my M3 and can't recommend them enough.

Cheers

Ash

BMWorx in Stoke Mandeville always looked after my 530 (and several friends cars) incredibly well. It's a bit of a drive from St. A but they do have courtesy cars.

Nice to hear of another good mechanic nearby though.

Another vote for BMWorx.

Went there for the first time a couple of months ago for an oil service and thermostat change. Also asked them to give the car the once over (as I had just bought it). They sorted a few niggles free of charge and noticed that the rear brake pads were low. When I asked if they needed replacing there and then, the chap said "they've got around a thousand miles left on them yet, so you might as well change them at a later date and get the full use out of them". Refreshingly honest, efficient and were very good value. Highly recommended.

There's a place near Morrisons on the Hatfield road in St.Albans.

Next door to Goldings Tailors.

Can't remember the name of the place, but i believe they are an independant BMW & Mercedes specialist.

The guys who run/own it, one is ex BMW & the other ex Mercedes.

Edit - this is the place I was thinking of - http://www.prestigeperformance.co.uk/contact.shtml
