Screeching starter motor repairs.

Here you go people.

If your starter screeches you need to replace this part.

Starter Gear

This is the Bendix with pre-engagement system as fitted to our starters.

Usually a bush with this unit collapses allowing the rear gear to spin without engaging on the flywheel.

It's a simple case of 4 small screws in the front plate that retain the unit in place. Remove, clean out old grease. Put some fresh in and then refit.

Ensure that the bolts are tight as if they fall out they fall into your clutch!

I heard people are changing the solenoids too. Any idea where you can get these?

CCW now have a full service and Solenoids available for the starters.
