I just made fibre glass repairs to the round outlets that the pipes go onto. Then sprayed them gloss black. Now they look better than the rest of the airbox, which is looking a bit tired. But after such a long resto, I can't be bothered to do the boxes too.
I have seen airboxes in black gloss that look fantastic. But I assumed they were professionally done. Who does them I don't know...

Mine had picked up a few scratches so I recently had them resprayed. I removed the oil catch pot myself and degreased them as best I could. The undersides were crazed from the heat from the manifolds. Anyway was told by the guy where I took them that proper prep would take a bit of time due to their intricate shape and this would be reflected in the total price. Picked them up two days later looking like brand new. Total cost £115, expensive but I'm very pleased with the result.

Smart engine bay. My airboxes are carbon fibre look - were yours before painting? Also, where did you get the blue induction pipes from? My purple ones are looking very second hand now. How long have they been on the car?
I think all airboxes were fibreglass painted in plain gloss black on the later cars. Think the earlier cars had carbon fibre effect airboxes.Smart engine bay. Standard purple pipes are available from TVR Power mine have done around 5000 miles and are just starting to turn brown around the ends near the inlet manifold. The standard type induction pipes are also available in black from Clevor Trevor see here http://www.tvrspareparts.com/cars/1-cerbera-v8.htm... 21st item down.
