Hi guys, just a newbie question.
After reading a few topic about replacing the clutch, just wonder what the driving is like if the the clutch is going? I needed my slave cylinder replaced and I was lucky to make it to the garage and thank god there were not much traffic. Would it be similar? or if the clutch is gone and that is it, you will have to call the man in the yellow van.

The day before my first clutch went it was difficult to get into gear, then the next day went completely and couldnt get it into gear at all and had to be recoverd by garage.
Just had second clutch fitted recently because slave cylinder was leaking which showed up as the hand brake light coming on even thought the handbrake was off. When the clutch was removed one finger had already gone, was ok though as it had lasted 28000 miles.

My clutch went recently. Started off a week or so before when it crunched twice going into fifth but i put it down to being lazy and not fully pressing the clutch.
The week later it decided to not go into first easily but again it was fine next time and drove fine for a few days, was a little bit more concerned but still put it down to nothing.
Then the clutch went completely, biting point on the floor and couldn't get it in gear. Made the drive home in 4th very interesting, lol. Luckily it was the middle of the night and there was no traffic. Probably wouldn't suggest it though.
New clutch on now and it's like chalk and cheese. Must have been going for a while but was gradual so I never noticed it getting worse.

Mine showed exactly the same symptoms. New clutch feels much lighter. So probably it´s an early sign/symptom that the clutch is about to go, if you need to push the left pedal hard.my pedal was very stiff indeed (on purchase) and I got about 500 ish miles out of it before it finally went ping. Paul at PPC said it was the stiffest clutch he'd experienced on a Tuscan. It still drove etc fine. Symptoms on it finally pegging out was difficult to get into gear and a real good clunk on take up.
New slave (raceproved) new clutch (AJP - newly improved last year) and pedal weight is more than both standard AJP replacements (tested one alongside mine at PPC - both just had replacement).
I think the most common issue is the clutch plate "fingers" stiffening then snapping off.
Check for fluid levels in clutch reservoir as could be a kiffed slave if its stiffening up.
