Well, 10 years ago we were starting to get 'excited' about the new milenium. Seemed to be so much hope and general ecpectation. Swerved the 'millenium bug' by paying some IT contractors through the nose.

Well, the first decade has been pretty crappy in my opinion.

Hmmm, lets see.

2000. - USA votes for retard. DOW JOnes at 11,700. Dot.com bubble burst, leading to recession. Dow to never recover? Concorde lost.

2001 - Terrorists attack out of the blue. 'World changes'. Lets invade Afghanistan. War.

2002 - War. Bali Bombs.Dow hits 7000.

2003 - Space Shuttle disaster. Lets invade Iraq. WMD lies. War.

2004 - Madrid Train bombs. War. retard re-elected. Tradgedy as Tsunami Kills hudreds of thousands on Boxing day.

2005 - Dad died (personal I know). Terrorists attack London. Katrina attacks USA. War.

2006 - War.

2007 - Terrorists attack London. War.

2008 - Credit Crunch takes hold. War.

2009 - War. Credit Crunch. Global Pandemic possible to see out the year?

Well you can keep the 'naughties'. Its been a pretty ste decade all round. All the promise of the new millenium was sham.

2001 - 2007/8 - unprecedented access to loans, credit and some people make an absolute killing on the property market - for some, its been a brilliant and extremely successful few years.

Personally, as already commented, two children and that is all that matters to me.

Agreed. My point was I hope the next decade is significanlty better than the one that is just passing.

You mean when Western civilisation collapses and we all roam around the motorways in a Mad Max 2-esque wasteland killing each other for a few gallons of unleaded?

Sounds awesome. One shotgun licence please.

In all seriousness it's gonna be another tough decade I reckon.

All the things listed by the OP are things they have no control over. If you choose to ignore the things outside of your control and just concentrate on those that you can influence, all is well with the world biggrin
