Hi, There is an SL55 engine on ebay. Just a flight of fantasy. but would it work in my W209 CLK 55, or would it be an electronics nightmare? The engine comes with autobox, loom, ecu, key, etc. Just a thought. Anyone done it?

I should imagine it would just slip right in considering it has all the gubbins with it.

But would it really be worth it for the gain? Is it "£8k+ plus fitting" worth it ...

Now if you were going to slot it in to an A-class, in place of the rear seats, that would be worth doing just for the sheer madness of it! biggrin

Compared to what some people pay for increase in performance, it`s not too bad. That`s if you pay the asking. Is it worth 4k plus fitting?

On one auction it has a buy-now of £9k and the other says they expect it to reach £7k+

Since a new one is indeed well over £22k, it may well reach the amount the expect (and Trents have been in the business a long time so they ought to have some idea of value)
