I am thinking of travelling this weekend to have a look with a view to buying - its really far from London though so has anyone seen it / know of it and can comment on it being a good example (or not..)

Not that it helps in the slightest, but:

Looks really tidy, but I don't "know" the car at all.

Good luck,

Cars that get placed in tv series normally belong to Lotus. I can't believe that a Lotus owned car would then be ofered through this company - it would go via a dealership. Read their small print - something about this car not necessarily being available immediately - I would say it isn't theirs at all, but they would merely try and act as a broker should you contact them.

I doubt you'd see that car at their premises.

I rang them up - they are an Authorised Lotus Dealer.

Asked what 'Lotus Management' car meant - he said the V5 is in the name of Philip something or other c/o Lotus and was a Lotus managers personal car.

Has the lightweight wheels and Exige seats with harness holes so thinking may have seen a lot of track work?

He said it wasn't a Lotus event or trackday car though.

Hmmm....

I live about 5 miles away !!

They have only just taken on the Lotus franchise a few weeks ago, and have been given a few ex Lotus management cars to start them off with. Hence the unusual spec, and most of them have been tracked. However, its virtually brand new and low mileage, so I wouldn't let that put you off if it is the spec you are loking far. They don't know much about the cars and can't do servicing work yet, so buyer beware...

I would say it is definitely worth travelling to get one the exact spec you want, or you will always regret it slightly.

Also, they are a Fiat/Alfa franchised dealer, and I haven't heard many good stories about the garage itself...

Hi,

Both of those Elise SC'S are Lotus Ex managment cars, I was offered both. That is very good value as I know for a fact that they were both offered for around 26k

I wouldn't touch the car for 24k I.e the one that changes colour but the White one shuld be fine, I'm not going into the reason's why as that wouldn't be fair

Buy the White car you will not regrett it, it's worth every penny

Westover's (Poole) have a really nice red SC in the show room for £23K. Worth a look!

The guy at the dealer said the car has Advan's on it - presume that is the A048 tyres, pics on website look like it? Should I be asking them to replace with regular tyres giving I intend to use it in Winter?

if its press then steer clear...think high performance hire car that has never been warmed up and only used for a few miles at a time then sold to someone that then tries to sell it and says it was only used by a guy in lotus management to drive home in...

My Elise is ex press and has never missed a beat. Chap on SELOC had an ex press Exige which was similarly without fault.

Think fully checked over and fettled before each and every time it goes out for appraisal and you'd be nearer the truth.

I test drove that car two weeks ago, I made an offer on it but Joe would not move on price, he was offering a full tank for full asking price.
It's a nice car but I did notice wind noise from the drivers door as being a little excessive. Mileage was 8990 at the time. The body work is very good with no noticeable stone chips but then it is white. In the end I brought number 20 of the Type 25 SC from Castle TVR but I can't pick it up until next week. Can't wait!

The deal has been done... bought the car. They are going to service it and sort out the door / wind noise issue and transport down to London.

Hoping for a decent Summer now!

Nice one.... shame that it won't be delivered with your own hollyoaks WAG too! So they are putting a sports exhaust on to sort out the wind noise are they?smile

Not so sure about their comments about being a dealership tho - the set up looks a little bit "car warehouse" to be an Lotus main dealer.... instead, I'd suggest they've got an angle into management/press/promo cars from Lotus.

Went for a wander round B&C at the weekend and I thought they looked a bit light on secondhand stock ... if Lotus are banging those cars out to the warehouses, I'm not suprised they'd be a bit reluctant to take on stock.

They're a Genuine Lotus Dealer.

Been trading as such for a month or two now. They're on the NORLOG forum regularly.

I'm sure they'll sort out a more Lotus branded/oriented website in due course.
