darling calls for scamera cull

hi, haven't seen this already posted, but story in Daily Mail today suggests Darling wants a reduction in speed cameras (in Scotland I think) because forces are 'using them to fill their own coffers'.

supposed to be a reduction of 165 i think.

hmmm... we'll see. think this might just be an attempt to pacify the public in the wake of recent media coverage.

Yep - classic new labour; talk about it - no need to actually do anything about it. Assumption is electorate are all too stupid to notice.

Hopefully they will learn different at the next election.
