I've got it for sale on here -

nono links to ads in the forums.

However, it's proving difficult to shift.

It's pretty much the cheapest S4 in country considering the quality, but it no joy yet?

What have I missed?

Type of car V's mileage would be my guess. People are scared of slightly leggy performance cars, as the repair bills can be huge. Please don't take this as an
attack on your car, just the view of someone who sold car's for 5 years.
Also recession, isn't the best time to be selling a car that does I'd guess 20 MPG if you're lucky.

smile No offence taken smile

I know the S4's a relatively specialist car though - I'm guessing it's just a case of waiting it out really frown
Then just reduce the price marginally in line with the market?
However, a great many cars have sold?
Down to location? I'm in Herefordshire...

Just a thought smile

I tried selling an 18mth old A6 3.0 last year, it was virtually impossible, recession has killed demand for large or thirsty cars

I like the car; I'd say it's average condition. Call it £2360 and I'll take it wink

Book prices dont really mean anything, dealers just use it when it suits em and then ignore them completely when you are buying oddly.

If you are saying this is in line with others for sale then it depends how desperate you are to sell really... If I was you I would take some better photos as the ones you have a dark and dingy, get the car really clean and take some nice light photos, lop £500 off and be prepared to go to £4k or maybe a bit less if you are desperate.

Six months ago I bought a W reg T Sport with 80k (Saloon though) for £1700 for the missus, but an S4 should fetch more.

I would say you photos are letting it down badly though

I had one of these last year, sold it back in Feb, lost a whole pile of cash in depreciation, just seems the arse dropped out the value on them in the last 18 months.
On the whole you're probably going to have to take a bit of a financial kicking i'm afraid. There have been quite a lot around with lower miles, remaps, suspension upgrades, facelift versions ('99 onwards) for not too much more than you're asking.
Great cars though, really easy to drive quickly.

Thanks for the info - yeh the p/ex price is about right. I'm not in a major rush to sell, and I certainly don't want to let it go for the p/ex price!!LOL!! smile

I take on board the comments about the pics - it was a bad light/weather day. Had just been washed/clayed/waxed etc too smile

As it's going to be a nice weekend, I'll give it another going over (like every weekend!) and put up some better pics.

TBH, I'd be happy to come down a bit (I thought the whole point was to haggle wink ) - the percieved allure of my car is that it's totally standard (no mods at all). Something I thought would be a premium - a clean car.... Perhaps I'm wrong!! smile

Also, I didn't think it was over-miles though - 117K in 10 years = 11.7K per year. If anything, it's under miles!!LOL! smile

But thanks for the comments and advice - will post up the "new/updated" link this weekend...

Maybe try posting on a VAG specific forum as you might find more enthusiasts there who'd appreciate a standard car.

I had an s reg silver one and punted it away about 3/4 years ago for £7.5k.
Then it had around 85k on the clock.
They are great cars make no mistake and I would get one again BUT.
I would go for a late as model / low milage as possible, prob 2003 now and I imagine a lot of people who are enthusiastic about the 2.7t would feel the same so the early models will hang around longer.

Thankyou smile

No worries - I won't be putting any links smile It was a genuine mistake. Totally forgotten I'd put this up.
Out of interest, feel free to PM me this (or email) - I would genuinely like to know why you can't put links into posts, as the link would be for somewhere else on this site. **This is not trying be a smart a$$ or be awkward. This is a genuine ADULT question, so please read as such**

But thanks for resurrecting the post smile

Still no buyers though biggrin
