Transatlantic on QM2

Has anyone done a crossing on the QM2 or other liner?

And if so is there a luggage restriction??

Ive had a scout round cunards website but luggage restrictions not leaping out at me

There's no luggage restriction on the ship, but I presume you'll be going one direction by air? If so, then the airlines will have a luggage restriction.

Ah no! I'm looking at driving from canada, as it looks as if we are returning to the uk for a year. so being able to bring loads of clobber will be helpful, my major issues at the mo is finding a one way truck rental to NYC

Having given someone a lift to and from a cruise, I can confirm that passengers were taking huge amounts of luggage with them...

But a TRUCKLOAD...?

I'm using truck in the north american vernacular, which covers anything from jeep cherokee to small lorry, an articulated truck is known as a semi

not sure how much our stuff amounts to at present, I'd say it would fit in the back of a large SUV (chevvy suburban or something!)with the back seats flat. Not sure we'd get away with bikes and skis though.

My gut feeling is, that the higher class of cabin you have the more amenable they will be to your "truck" load of luggage

Just contact them to explain beforehand, even if most of it (the stuff you won't need while you're actually on-board) is on a palette I would think they'll have no problem finding somewhere to put it.

Good idea, ill give em a call, the major issues to my cunning plan at the mo is the cross border one way car/truck rental!
