Surprise from Accurist

I've not looked at Accurist watches for a long time, having had my eyes turned towards more 'luxurious' brands in over the past few years. However, of curiosity, I thought I'd check......



I like it. I like it a lot. I felt like I shouldn't as for a second it did seem a little 'I wish I was a Breitling Emergency', but I think it has an appeal of it's own. Not too madly priced for a daily wear either.

Thoughts? Not seeking approval, just curious!

I like it, and I like the colour of the face especially. Great for a daily wearer. Not to 'pretentious' - its an Accurist and it is trying to be an Accurist IMO - not something else.

On a side note, all the numbers on the watch around the dial. How do they all get used? i.e. how do yo calculate mph etc.?

To me it looks like a copy of a Navitimer and as such there should be the instructions for the use of the slide rule in the box with it, just like the Navitimer.

Hmmmm....I think my original intentions of 'just looking' may turn into 'just purchasing'. The more I look, the more I want it! Will post the results if I do pick one up.

(Wouldn't be for a little while yet, have other priorities).

And the booklet is likely to be very thick and you need an A-level in maths to understand it

What's the quality of Accurists like these days? I ask as I was bought a very nice one as a 21st birthday present 7 years back and pins kept falling out of the bracelet strap, causing the watch to drop off my wrist and get damaged. Naturally I returned to the shop each time but after the 3rd attempt I threw it in a drawer and haven't seen it since! Shame, it was a lovely looking watch!
