.....at the end of our lane. This is the 3rd or 4th in 12 months.

Meanwhile the local council have to have 17 planning meetings to decide if we can put up a barrier on the access lane which has bugger all to do with the council and belongs to a local farmer who is all for closing the lane at dusk. This time the car was pushed into the new (like last week new) fence the farmer had just erected and burned down a 12 foot section. Woman who lives at the bottom is terrified it will be her house they push a burning car into next.

Not sure who I am angrier at, the thieves or the council TBH. Looks like quality of life and a bit of peace only extends to the councillors.

A poor rant I know but typifies the UK system of government IMHO: sit around and talk and claim expenses when there is an obvious and simple solution (which the folks in the village have already had a whip round to pay for). Feckers, al of hem.

Sounds like a pretty poor situation TBH, definately i would be more angry at the Council but the tossers who keep toasting the cars deserve to be lined up against the walla nd promptly shot.

On the plus side if its 4 corsas in the last couple of months then at least they have the good sense not to torch anything decent :P

I assume this is one of the perks of being a local councillor..... ours changed a proposed bus route. This was against police advice, and against highways advice, but then the original route would have taken the bus past the councillors house. The route as passed does not.

Someone burns out a Corsa and you COMPLAIN?! Send them down my way if ever you catch them, I know a few that could do with burning.

Can you not get your neighbours to look out for tts in crap cars coming down the lane, then all stroll out behind them before they can torch it... it'd be a shame if you happened to have been playing baseball just before.

A farmer friend of mine had similar problem but he resolved it by getting a couple of other farmers and “hunting for the vermin on his land” late at night.

Couple of nights after they started hunting, the lads arrive in a car and are immediately surrounded by “armed bds” to quote Gene Hunt. They were given some instruction on the error of their ways with the business end of the shotgun pointing in their direction.

Never had a problem since.

(And no, the guns weren’t loaded and yes, the local bobby came and had a word about this alleged behaviour but that was all very matey)
