M6 (05-) Brake Upgrade?
Discussion
Hi,
Has anyone have advice about (or actuallly carried out) a brake upgrade on the M6?
I've found that spirited driving around the track leads to brake fade on the stock setup. I'm wondering whether just changing the pads to EBC reds would be sufficient, or whether a full-on hoses/discs/calipers is the only way?
Any advice greatly appreciated,
Paul.

I suggest a brake service with new fluids, hoses and possibily a look at uprated pads. EBC red stuff don't have consistent ratings from what I have read. Best to ask around the forums or talk to specialists etc.
On my old car a brake service and new pads made a huge difference to fade on track.
Changing calipers etc should be last resort as top end brake upgrade is a few thousand so probably not best to start with that.

EBC red stuff is essentially racing equipment for the road. They have great stopping power but they fade very quickly and IMO aren't really great or suitable for long term road use.
The stock pads have great stopping power (really great), but fade quickly, so what's the point in changing to EBC red if you have the same situation?? Surely this can't be true?Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
