Slapped down?

Can somebody help? I was just getting over a really bad case of 'flu 2 nights ago and felt hungry.
I went out for a quick takeaway, dosed up to the eyeballs with painkillers and feeling a bit out of it.
I remember coming out of the takeaway and going to cross the road...........some headlights and then I woke up this morning in hospital.
Doctors said I had minor bruising and a hand-shaped bruise on my face like I had been bh-slapped!
Does anyone know what may have happened?

This was on the news, police were trying to trace a man slapped across the face on CCTV then violated anally by a group of yobs.
