On the basis that mike arrived at my place earlier with a destroyed bell housing, I'd say he's not having that much fun at the moment.

Thanks for posting the pictures!

I have just arrived back home. We managed to get it sorted.

We think a bolt had worked loose in the clutch assembaly and then hit the edge of the bellhousing at 7400rpm causing a rather large mess!!

So new clutch and new bellhousing are on, just got to hope that the standard raceproved road clutch holds up to the abuse im going to give it tomorrowdriving!.........

Thanks to those guys who came and said hi today! Its allways nice to have some support!

Ridds i dont have any tickets left, however i may be able to get you in under my team pass? I will let you know. Txt me your number, mine is 07955 372 182

p.s was talking to steve howard of euphoria racing tonight who is running an AJP powered RS mexico in the heratige GT'S, His top speed on the main straight is higher than mine and Johns!!!!yikes

Great news Mike and good luck for the rest of the weekend. thumbup

TC and myself have become Mike's first paying sponsors. What a laugh! Will have our names on the flying banana and its an honour to be in there from the begining smile When you're famous Mike, we can claim to have set you on your way wink

Anyone else fancy a small sponsorship for Mike, who is doing this completely out of his own pocket? A couple of hundred quid isnt going to buy him a fancy race car but at least he will be able to eat at the race meets hehe

Have I just promoted myself to Sponsorship Cordinator mate? paperbag

And wavey to Johnny too. Good to meet you finally and also good luck to you for the weekend. How did you finish up today?

As a fellow Cerb owner, the pride in seeing 2 of our beloved motors kicking the butts of much more epxpensive cars and well heeled teams was fantastic.

woohoo

Just a shame the commentator mentioned over the tanoy that, despite Mike's car being so fast "it isnt the prettiest race car out there". Cheeky barsteward! wink

Mike & Jonny, great to see you both going so well today; sorry it was only a flying visit.

As Fubes said, you're doing all us cerb owners prowd. And Mike, to be running 3rd fastest in class1 just before your yikes 'what the f*** is that nasty noise' moment is truly remarkable at you first meet. bowclap

Glad you got it sorted and hope the clutch holds out. Wish I could get down there over the weekend but not possible.

Good luck to both of you (& Mr Wheeler in the heritage class of course!)

Wow!!!

GT Cup is certaintly a different experience! The driving is very hard and you really have to push the car 120% every lap...

Qualifing was very busy with one safty car which made it very difficult to get a clear lap. I managed one clear one and went 2 seconds quicker than in yesterdays testing. However this was only good enough for 7th on the grid which i was quite dissapointed with.

To be honest the build up to the race was like my first race all over again! I was really nervous having never raced on the GP track or eith these kind of cars as competitors, let alone having never done a rolling start!

The race was very eventfull and i really pushed the car hard, really hard!

The end result was a second place finish behing the Lamborghini GT car with one of the vipers behind me. To say im over excited is an understatement!!!

Im not sure tommorrows race will be as sucsessfull, i need to add 40kg of ballast to the car due to the second place finish. The main problem however is that the tyres are way past there best now so the car is extremely difficult to control and to be honest i cant afford to buy another set!! The joys of racing on a budget!

Anyway what a great day it has been!

Just shows the cerb is still up there with the best!
