BookaTrack.com's Bring My Car
Discussion
I've just bought a race car which I should be getting towards the end of may once it's come out of the workshop. Before I venture anywhere near a track full of hooligans (i.e. racing drivers
) I thought it would be a good idea to get some track days under my belt before to learn the car and tracks. My situation at the moment means I've got nowhere to store it, so I'd need to put it in storage, and no means to transport it on a trailer so I was just going to drive it to the track until I start racing proper. Obviously this isn't ideal as it'll make for some very hot and uncomfortable rides, but I'm sure I'll cope, or rather I'll have to cope
Now in my fumblings around the net I noticed bookatrack.com have a bring my car service where they store the car for £69/month which is only a few quid more than other places I looked at, and getting it to a track is £155. By the time I've paid MOT, tax and insurance to drive on the road I worked out I could have them bring my car to 8 track days in a year and I'd break even, but save a lot of hassle and sweating buckets.
My question though is how good are bookatrack.com? They seem quite professional from what I've read, if a little pricey for the track days compared to trackdays.co.uk (or maybe there is a reason for that?). The only other thing is their weekend track days, which obviously I'd prefer all seem to be Anglesey or Rockingham, but I guess weekend running will always be limited.
What do you guys think? The main thing going over in my mind is being limited to bookatrack.com track days only.

BookaTrack are great, and I'd still be doing trackdays with them if I had the money to waste. They're also now doing open-pitlane days on all their events, so you'll get more time with them that you will with some of the cheaper organisers, plus you've got their 'no queuing or your money-back' guarantee.
Anglesey's a brilliant circuit too, with brand a new (well, 2 years old) surface and some good elevation changes.
Your only other option is getting a trailer and tow-hitch - but then you've got to store that too.
Don't forget that these days are track days, and not test days, so don't treat the other attendees as fellow 'competitors'.

Haven't used the 'bring my car' service but attended track days and hired their cars. I second comments above that Jonny and his team are very professional and well organised. Highly recommended. The only question is if you can be satisfied with their track days only. Or, speaking to them, you may find out that they could deliver the car also to track days not run by them? For example they rent their cars for some non BaT events.

Well I've gotta say there isn't a bad word about them here so I'm definitely going to give them a call and find out a bit more. Thanks for all the replies!

If you've got a race car just make sure that you're likely to pass the drive-by-noise regs for the cicuits, as BaT used to test at some circuits.
I'm told it's 102 dB, which I know is slightly above the usual 98 dB but everyone I know who has got the same car as I'm getting from the same workshop hasn't had any problems on track days, or if they have it's been accepted to just change up a few hundred RPM earlier to get within limits. I heard Bedford and Castle Combe might have tougher noise limits though so I'll need to read carefully before booking anything.Edited by Glyn84 on Sunday 3rd May 20:06
