Comments suggest brake fade on the TVR. Which is still the fault of the driver, but not as bad as driving straight into somebody. frown

He was on the grass shortly before the crash.

Meh, its only a saxo. Plenty more of those proping[sic] up autotrader. A real shame about the TVR though.

Quarry is a nasty corner - very difficult to get right in order to achieve a fast time through it and very easy to get wrong, in order to take you off of the track entirely. If you click on the TVR/Saxo link, 2 clips advertised are for a Z4 and an Elise doing a very similar thing to the TVR. All 3 come over Avon Rise on the wrong line, get on the grass and are passengers from then on.

I've driven Castle Combe a few times and Quarry is very intimidating. A friend of mine who used to race F Ford at Combe said that you should be flat out over Avon Rise and then do all your braking for Avon Rise on the other side. The problem is that Avon Rise is blind and I was never brave enough to keep my foot down over it - I always backed off early and then braked in a straight line before turning into Quarry proper. It may not be the quickest way through the corner but I always brought the car home in one piece - I propbably wouldn't make a very successful racing driver... (I'm happier watching from the sidelines.
