I have a bit of flaking powder coat on one corner of the chassis + same on the battery clamp bracket. I am looking to effect a professional repair (well as good as I can manage laugh) and am looking for a few tips.

1) I need to obvioulsy prepare the exposed area. What prep paint / treatments are good (POR-15?)
2) I want to paint over the initial protection with a matched finishing colour. Does any one know the RAL colour of the chassis paint (2004/2005 chassis, off white to biegey grey?)
3) What suitable paints could I get in the right RAL colour
4) What protection top coat should I apply to finish off?

If anyone can provide any views on the above I would be most grateful - Thx

it may not be ral. it may be BS 4800. i would get a ral and 4800 colour chart as a starting point.

I use Rustoleum Combicolour on my race car. it is a very good chassis paint and can be bought mixed in any Ral or 4800 colour.

very good stuff and no where near as expensive as POR which in my opinion isn't as good as the hype surrounding it.

Thx

It was actually the rustoleum I was looking into but needed either the RAL (or maybe BS colour). The other option was a zinc based primer and then top coat with aerosol type spray with a good coat of underbody protection.
