what kind of car?
My X300 would do it sometimes if the battery voltage was a fraction low.
Eventually though the ABS unit failed and I had it replaced, Berkshire Jag spares do recon ones.

My XK8 had a similar problem, and found it was the N/S/F abs sensor lead had broken near the plug joint.

Did you run the car with the rear wheels off the ground. This will make it think both fron speed sensors arent working. Should go out as soon as you drive down the road though.

Other wise you are just gonna have to get the codes read to see what it is.

Any one with a code reader. You if you get one. or your local back street garage, or for 0.3 hours at £100/hour your local jaguar dealer.

Did you drive the car yet?? as soon as it does its self test at 10mph or whatever it is, it should put out the light if it was caused by a spurious not actual fault.

This sometimes happens with my Scorpio - maybe it's a Ford part trait?

Anyway, when it does, I simply reverse about 20yards, put into Park, switch off & back on again and it's fixed.

No idea if it'll help your Jag but well, nothing ventured etc eh? smile

I had a similar problem with my xj8.Jaguar dealer said it was a loose connection on the f.o.s. abs sensor. They adjusted it and the warning went away. When it reappeared a few weeks later I took the car to an indy who could find no fault after a code check. The problem persisted and I tried another indy, again negative. The m.o.t. was looming and I expected to fail on this but the warning light disappeared. That was about five weeks ago and so far so good as the Jag dealer was talking more than two hundred for a new a.b.s. unit.

buy an OBD II code reader, I got one for £20, cheaper than paying for someone to read it
