Cheers.

Sold the Submariner LV a while back and this cost less than half.

It's a fabulous thing.

That is stunning, certainly looks much more substantial than the sub, on which I thought the bracelet felt flimsy and not a quality item.

I do love this watch, but my heart is currently set on a Stowa Marine Original.

As I said in the other thread cracking watch, I have not had it long but its just great. It has marked where I have hit it a couple of times, but the time is accurate and it looks good. I put it on leather as I feel its a bit heavy with a bracelet.

It's properly heavy on the bracelet. 210 grammes. Or "nearly half a pound" in old money. But - what a bracelet! I've handled a few Rolexes (from Air Kings up to SDDS) and their bracelets, by comparison, are flimsy pap. Very comfortable pap, that must be said, but there's no sense of engineering in the clasp. The Omega clasp, on the other hand, feels solid.

I'm very properly liking my orange biggun. It's definitely a keeper.

Price range? Well, the 45.5mm retails for £2150. You can save a hundred quid by having it on strap or rubber, but if you change your mind and want the bracelet later, the price will bring you out in hives (i.e. £450 or thereabouts).

Most jewellers will offer a discount of 15% or thereabouts. I heard tell that Goldsmiths were offering 20%, but that was a while ago.

Definitely try it on in both 42mm and 45.5mm sizes; it's a big watch and, on the bracelet, quite heavy (as noted above). I don't think it wears as big as the numbers suggest, but then I have huge paws.

I got 20% off.

Goldsmiths are doing 10% deposit and 0% over 9 months, too.

The Omega Seamaster is the best watch I have ever owed,I wear it very day always looks great!I have also a Rolex bi metal sub the bracelet and clasp are not in the same class as the Omegas.

Hope you can see the difference.I did have a Rolex Datejust the clasp and barcelet were just as poor so change it for this

I am told that the new clasps and barcelets on subs and deepseas are a lot better made are they?I would still keep the Seamaster it's got that nice feel to it.
