New Z4 - new Z8 -anybody driven one yet ?
Discussion
Drove past a BMW dealer yesterday with a brand new Z4 outside in blue with cream leather . It looked stunning and the interior reminded me of the Z8 interior which is IMO one of the best in any car.According to reports it is aimed at the SLK rather than the boxster with an emphasis on comfort . Has anybody driven one yet - impressions ?

Hmm. We're not so convinced. We've a z4 coupe, and my wife isnt convinced of the new car. She wouldnt change it to anything slower than her own car so that would mean the sDrive35i which is £37K before options.
TBH a 370z is higher on the list currently.
Saw one today.
Longer, wider than the current z4. Interior seemed higher quality, and better built (our z4 coupe rattles like a bag full of spanners)
Poor colour range for a 'sports' car, none of the alloys do the car justice.
Seats are fairly dire - the seat itself is pretty much a flat panel - why are sports seats not standard? Or are they like that for fat american asses?
You could probably spec a 3.0 version for around £33-34K, but the 3.0 twin turbo version (ie, the one you'd want) would push £40K+.
For that money i'd have a Cayman, OR save a serious amount of dosh and buy the 370z.
Interestingly, the finance deals didnt come out at any different than the deal on the m3 with the 19s and semi auto 7 speed box.
I know where my money would (possibly will) be.
