Can anyone tell me how many miles per gallon I should expect from the 4ltr tuscan. The reason I am asking is it seems much better than the Griffith 500.
The other thing I noticed whilst reading the handbook is they recommend you using 95 Ron unleaded fuel for normal day to day use is this correct?

I get around 20mpg buzzing around town with a bit of dual carriageway stuff thrown in. On a decent run, at reasonable speeds, around 28mpg.

Usually on average get around 25MPG, but I always use 98/Optimax as mine use to pink a bit during warmer weather using 95.

I seem to het about 26mpg on a decent run but this can drop to below 20 around town or when out for a good thrash. COnsidering a Ferrari 360 strugles to beat 15mpg I think its doing fine. Obviously theblacktuscs has money to burn or an inexhaustable passion for filling stations.

I only get mid teens when driving to work and back, but a lot of the run is in traffic and it seems to use more petrol ticking over than it does when you are moving. On a steady (90 mph) motorway run I get about 25 or so.

Last weekend Bob the Planner filled his Tuscan up in Windermere and next filled up at Seascale on the coast. Inbetween the driving was Harknott pass, Wrynose pass, Ulpha fell, etc and was almost all single track roads.

MPG is likely to have been attrocious
Bob - what's the answer ?

Total miles of trip 893.5, fuel used was 194 l for an average of 20.86 - this included Dales hooning as well as M6 jams, a roads to/from Bristol as well as Lakeland passes [best sector 25.2 mpg]

Windermere to Holbrook : Distance 101 miles using 33.02 l of fuel - an average of 13.9 mpg. But loads of smiles per litre

Are all these MPG figures based on your own calculations or is there some sort of digital readout hidden between the water temp, oil temp, tacho, speed etc etc.

i don't care either, but if you are driving your Tuscan the way you should be, 9MPG is good.

Done the old fashioned way. Fill the tank, note the mileage and wok it out from the difference.

Its Duncan going up first in the SEAC that really deserves the admiration. Dave & Sharon in the Griff also deserve praise as well

Look for the write up in Sprint for the full story

FYI - I've a reciept for 32.41 l of fuel in the SEAC at Holmbrook, but I wasn't as patient as I was at Windermere and could probably have squeezed another couple of lites in if I had tried harder. So I'm going to claim I used marginally more fuel than Bob's Tuscan on the same roads
