Detonation under power would be the issue. How much of an issue depends on the state of tune, and how much power you're asking. If you're only cruising, it wouldn't matter. If you've got a race tuned engine at full throttle it'll need extraordinary measures to avoid detonation. Are you allowed to use octane booster?

power is not important but reliability will be. told fuel will be as low as 70 in Mongolia.so can a xflow be built for that purpose
thanks
Yes, but what are you going to *do* with it while it's running on that fuel? If you detune it to allow full power running it won't go very well, and it will go just as poorly on the higher octane fuel you will have available elsewhere. Is power/performance an issue? If not, consider setting the engine up for the typical fuel and just be aware that you will need to avoid high loads while you're running on rubbish fuel.thanks

a couple of gallons of this in the boot and your problems are solved, assuming you don't have cats or a lambda sensor.
