Designer Italian leather sofas. Not cheap. Just come downstairs and found that my Jack Russell has pissed up against one. He's seven years old, so no puppy excuse. Busy cleaning it up (after throwing the little sod out into the garden) looked up and found that my girlfriend's cat has ripped one of the cushions to shreds with his claws.

Anybody have instructions on how to make furry gloves?

Is the sofa new?We had a dog do this a few years ago and the vet reckoned he didn't like the change.

If it's new he is marking it as part of his "territory".......

Is he castrated. If not then he will be more inclined to mark esp if it is a new item. However even neutered dogs can have the occasional urge to mark.

I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone willing to make furry gloves out of a dead cat's skin. But good luck to you anyway! wink

Both cat and dog are castrated. If they hadn't have been I would be castrating them myself with a rusty spoon this morning. The sofas are about three months old. FOr a similar spend I could have had a decent Porsche 944.

That, effectively, is exactly what your cat and dog are trying to tell you.

I'd say you need instructions to make two of these:

Put them in a potato sack, tie the top and throw them in a lake....

Or just not let them back in the house.

Make a cushion out of the cat and use the dog to soak up the piss.

They'll never understand the irony of course.

Throwing him outside AFTER he has done it is pointless. He won't have a clue what he has done to deserve it...
You need to catch him in the act and make a scene about it. Then he will realise that it isn't acceptable.
Our dog cocks his leg and has a mark very occasionally on the corner of our sofa. I caught him once and since then he has virtually stopped, except for the occasional drop, usually after another dog or unknown person has been in the house.

Or you could piss on the sofa yourself.
