Hello,

I have a car for sale in the classified ads. Someone has emailed me about the car but when I reply, the email bounces.

It states:

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (state 14).

Anyone know what may have caused this? I will try and get in touch with the other service provider, but was wondering if there was another way of getting through to them? Can PH help me patch through to the potential buyer another way?

TIA

The sender has put an incorrect email address in when they created a profile/ sent you the message.

It's not PH related, but quite a common error.

I thought that would most likely be the case.

I don't suppose there is any way around it? The email would mention if the buyer was a registered member? Or do they need to be registered to email me about my car??

TIA

You don't need to be a member to send a message via PH.
The only difference being when logged in, is your contact details are pre-completed.

I'd assume the sender was not a member due to an incorrect email address.
You are given the option of including your name/ tel number.....

Failing that; update your advert to state some emails have not been recieved, and could all interested parties please re-send their emails biggrin

Woah garage is way out of date! Don't have either of those cars anymore! Infact, the car I am selling is the car that replaced that saab, and I have a new car now!
