Saab SUV

Anyone not making an SUV these days? Oh yes, my Aunt Doris...

The chaps are Saab are working hard at the moment. As the company strives to make a mark for itself within the huge GM empire, they are trying to produce some machinery that will suit larger markets yet retain their individuality.

Today they've announced their latest model, and their first sport utility vehicle. It's called the Saab 9-7X. Featuring standard all-wheel-drive and two engine choices, the 9-7X SUV will fill Saab’s need for an entry is this balooning segment of the market.

It will make its world debut at the 2004 New York Auto Show in April 2004, and will go on sale about a year later. The company will pander to the North American markets initially with the 9-7X being produced specifically for the United States and Canadian markets only.

The new 9-7X will be built at GM’s Moraine Assembly plant in Ohio, beginning in the first quarter of 2005.

I've just been scrolling through the list of 'SAAB Owners' from the link in the news stories. Is there another marque on the PH database which has as many 'thumbs up' icons?

Whoops, my bad - didn't realise the listing consists of more than one page - let alone five!
