New telly time
Discussion
Ok before I pester Der,whats the general opinion of whats needed and what isnt on a tv
Im not going to spend £2k on a telly (Wedg1e take note
) all im looking at is something around 32" flatscreen
Is a widescreen TV really necessary,I dont watch many films
I assume not getting a HDTV would be daft
HDMI why do i need so many as three seem to be the standard
Frequency rates (hz) whats acceptabe and whats silly and would i notice the difference ? I struggle read the text without glasses and rarely wear them to watch TV
So what do I need and whats a decent TV ?
Been looking around and found this,any good or not,knowing me its junk

Future proofing - Sky HD, DVD, PS-3 ? (Assuming you are not running the signals through an AV-Amp).pies said:

Whilst I've had my (non-HD) Panasonic for a while now, I think it still holds true that the brand remains close to the top of its class.Probably worth popping along to a local Currys or similar, checking out the wall of TVs and deciding which ones look best to your eyes..

I have to say I am yet to see a Sony panel that hasn't been disappointing.

Maybe something happening to JVC's DR1 series LCDs today (32, 37 & 42") - all with 5 year guarantees and afaic the best LCD chassis out there (a perennial reality, not that anyone bloody listens!
)
We had my Blu-ray du jour on the 42" set the othe day (Zulu) and it was gobsmacking in a way that would leave the televisual brethren of the Llantrae scarpering for cover...
