Speed six, Removal of middle pipes

Has anyone tried removing the middle boxes from a speed six Cerb, do not wish to get it to load.

Exhaust currently touching the gear box and thought when in these may as well get a SS section in place of the boxes. (Makes more room!!!)

Thoughts?
