Have a question for the engine specialists. My french engine could be ready middle of june or I can have one now and get
ECU and loom later. The advantage would be that I have the engine one month earlier and can start putting the ancillaries.
Is there a difference big enough between LS7 engines that would it make sense to get the engine from the test bed instead of any LS7 engine
that will used with a map that has been made with the reference engine ?

If the first engine has all its add on bits like alternator and dry sump pump etc. etc. in the same places as your second engine then no problem but you need to be real sure as there is not much room left with the LS7 in there as you witnessed at the weekend where the pump pulley was about 15mm from the bulkhead.
I would wait. You have plenty of other bits to be getting on with.

I read your post about 3 weeks ago, where you said that your engine supplier was going to run it with a GD exhaust and then send you the whole lot.

The advice that I have received from AS is that you want the exact same loom and ECU that have been used to successfully run and test your engine.

Hi Spatz

Great to meet you at the weekend

there are several different ecus that can be used from Gm (is it a GM Ecu??)

e38
e40
e67

the motorsport application is the 67, what 02 sensors are they mapping with as standard Gm ones are narrowband so useless for anything other than standard maps. I imagine you will be running 4 anyway?? So i would check to see whats being used by the French guys else you may incur expensive problems.

yes my pleasure too, it is a DTAFAST S80PRO and I will wait and have them delivered the engine
they tested with my ECU and loom so I have a guaranteed working setup.
thanks
