Where are you based?

Round my way we buy our "treat meat" from either Newlyn's or Laverstoke

http://www.laverstokepark.co.uk/

Got some lovely T-bones from Newlyns at Easter. They were delicious!

kris was it a "proper" butcher? A half decent butcher should be able to cut you a T-bone.

In my old local butcher you asked the previous day and he would butcher the carcus accordingly the following morning ready for collection. I really miss having a good source of meat frown

Back when that Blair was trying to control what we all eat (how quickly we forget, eh?), I remember the joy of giving him the finger and still eating t-bone steaks.

A T-bone is in fact a cross section of the whole Sirloin (not to be confused with a trimmed Sirloin steak) it consists of Undercut (untrimmed fillet) and Sirloin Steak! New york strip is not a british cut!

I'm not in Britain, so that would explain it. Over here, it's undercut fillet and NY strip.
