Hey guys,

Was just thinking, how do must people resolve the issue with insurance when driving on track? My insurance company covered trackdays earlier but have changed their terms. Any companies specialising in trackday cover and what might it cost for a day?

Thanks!

A lot of people use A Manning. They provide a standard road car policy that includes unlimited trackday cover in the UK and Europe. 01491 578 759.

Also for one offs you can try "competition car insurance."

I have used them, excess is 10% of value but it was about £100 a day premium.

I have insurance with Hagerty they cover track days with 10% of value excess.
AON do track insurance within their policy.

Lot of companies that do on the day insurance wont cover over £50k and premium is expensive.

Over half the people I see on track use A Manning.

It costs <£300 on my annual premium to include trackday cover (with a 10% excess and no limit on the value of a claim) so really you'd need to be clinically insane not to opt for track cover (assuming you plan to track your car).

Anyone successfully claimed yet?

I'm guessing the £300 is for the KTM rather than the Superleggera?

No - I was referring to the Superleggera Doug. Like I say, easy decision.

Yes. Quite a few people I know. They have a good reputation for paying up without dicking around. Fortunately I've not had to put them to the test personally.

You'll find they are very selective about which customers they accept. They want detailed information on your driving experience and past claim history - understandable given the scope of the policy.

The policies (that include trackday cover) are underwritten by either Allianz or Brit. Homepage is http://www.manninguk.com/

There are other brokers/insurers out there that do trackday cover but I've yet to find one that doesn't impose some stupid/impractical conditions such as limit you to the number of trackdays each year, limit the value of the claim, ask for a crazy premium etc...

My old man is an MD at an Insurance broker, he's currently agreeing some terms for providing trackday cover.

He's outlined that the cover is for personal damage only, regardless of fault. Excess is likely to be around 10% of vehicle value with the premium being competitive.

You can drop him an email:
