Who's going?

Just wondering if any PHer's are attending the run this year?

There were a few last year so good to see some familiar faces again??

I'm guessing Lordbenny is going? smile

Just watched a video of an estate going round hehe

That was under the reigns of the old owner, the business 'I think' changed hands 2005 and judging by the last 2 years the tracks have been great. I thought it would be a few laps but it was open pit lane all day driving

I didn't go in 2005 so cant really comment on that!

yeah - that was Tim's last European trip.

It changed to Jan in 2006.

I did 2004 & 2005 so I've no experience on how the events go with the new regime

Have you been on any other rallies? Just wondering how they compare.

With Jan people say the attention to detail is fantastic. We have always had a blast.

Since 2005, I've only done smaller rallies - where only a small number of cars without stickers/numbers have spent longer in Europe.

Every year I do a run to the sun - South coast of France in under a day - but then spend longer exploring better driving roads rather than rushing onto the next location.

No stickers or numbers on the Cannonball Run Europe either!

I dont think so TBH.

When you are 2000 miles from Dover you can guess which cars are part of the run! Not many English plates out there!

Its much better as there is no attention from the Police or boader patrols at all.

It is not really a 'look at me' rally like some.

But it was a great track, very tecnical to get right. I remember the Aston coming out of the pits, turning left & doing a lap, everyone else had turned right, scary to watch but thankfully it transpired no one else was on the track apart from the course Subaru in panic mode

We did the first 4 runs but none since Jan took over, I think the Swedish was one of the best.

We now do private invite only runs which are IMO more fun. You all know who you are going with & more importantly you know how they drive. Ive had a few 100+ scares with ***ers on the Cannonvball who demonstrated a severe lack of talent when it was needed.

Good luck to anyone going this year, have a blast, its not going to be long before the Eurocrats stop this sort of run completely

Precisely the reason i stopped going. I'm no driving god, but I was scared stiff of the lack of talent of some of the other drivers. Too many drivers with money who depended on expensive driver aids to keep them on the black stuff.

I would agree some of the group last year had never been on a track before and it shows. However on an open pit lane all day between a few cars most times I was on the tracks I didnt see another car which was cool.

The convoys on the road I travelled in were well behaved and more of a laugh stopping at random places and having a good time along the way instead of messing about and bad driving TBH.

With that many people you are always bound to get a numpty though.
