P38 Brakes

hi folks,

my wife's 4.0 that we purchased only a month ago has some grinding brakes. unfortunately we haven't had the opportunity to get it checked but i've come home tonight to discover the near side rear looked rather yellow! on further inspection it looks like rust, it does wipe off. does anyone have any ideas? much appreciated, we won't be able to get someone to look at it until the weekend. incidentally it's a late 2001.
