Only had the car a few days and now found the gears getting harder to engage.
In traffic lift the clutch 10mm of the floor and the car starts to move bite is almost on the floor.
How long do these clutches last car's done 17k
Where's the master cylinder kept found the brake one great place to put that too!
Can you adjust the bite?i know you can on cable but hydralic.
Thanks

Shared reservior with the brakes (don't worry the clutch cannot affect the brakes)

If the cars beeen standing a while and the reservioir is getting low its likley the slave is leaking, other than that its clutch time, but slave might as well be done at same time.

£1000 is about the going rate with the slave

Has that got anything to do with Low Brake Fluid warning coming on today getting more frequent by end of day??
Please tell me it has.
Car wasn't used much by previous owner in fact im running it in after rebuild.

Hi

Have a look underneath when its been parked up for a few days to see if you can see any fluid on the floor. Your looking at somewhere underneath the centre of the car possibly just back from the gear stick.

Mine was stood for a while and my slave weeps a little with a few drops a week coming out. Top up your fluid and see if that makes it any better but keep an eye on how quick it looses it!

Cheers.

So brake/clutch uses the same sensor on the cap i assume reservoir is divided can i just pour some in it's a bit difficult to be accurate in that tight area.
No leaks shown up on garage floor yet.
Brakes are OK so i was shocked to see the message and it shows when braking then goes away to reappear when braking again.

As I understand it there is one common reservoir for both the brake and clutch fluid and the system is designed so when the fluid is at a low level the clutch fails first so you always have brakes.

If your pads are low and the fluid has not been topped up I suppose this could cause the low level?

If you have nothing on the floor top it up (I use one of my daughters play milk jugs from her tea set!! Its easy to pour the fluid in!) and see if that resolves the problem.

Cheers. Lee.

Brakes are shared reservoir with clutch, so the brake warning lamp comes on when the level gets low as the clutch slave leaks.

If you keep topping up and working the clutch the slave can fail and leave you stranded(or in a few cases bed the seals in and be OK- like mine was)

LOL ...that sounds very familiar ..ours went at 18k miles too ..thankfully the only time its been on a low-loader in 3 years and fins since ...apparently there was some later design of slave cylinder that could be fitted, so once you have had it upgraded once, you should be fine ....

Bad Newsfrown
Had the car up on ramps today and fluid dripping from the gearbox.
Slave cylinder had it.
Not a good start to my ownership of a T350.
Also front disks knackered.

Believe me there are worse starts to 350 ownership. Mine had a bottom end rebuild, new ally rad and some sensors all required in the first month of ownership (last October/November) though fortunately this was mostly covered under warranty. I've also had to replace the alternator and have the throttle rebalanced as well as needing my ECU reprograming due to an intermittent cut out at idle.

Sometimes I wonder if I should have stayed with the relative safetly of my old Chimaera, until that is I start the 350 up and go for a drive. Now I'm used to it it's so much better than the Chim in every way (except to the bank balance) and I love it, especially since having the JP exhaust fitted.
