My wife wants a Z4.
If we go for one i'd rather spend a little extra and get a Z4M.

Anyone got any bad stories with these or are they a great car.

Advice on here is better than anywhere else I feel.

Thanks

The z4m is an entirely different beast than a regular z4. Why not compromise though and go for the 3.0Si? 0-60 5.7s, big straight 6, 262BHP, 30+ mpg. Great cars!

Missus recently purchased a Z4 2.0 with the M Sport kit. It really is gutless but then it's fine for the little lady :-)

I wasn't to big a fan of it until I took it for a spin down some twisties and then it all made sense... Handles like a dream.

Had my Z4MR about 6 weeks now, mostly good although had it in at the dealers a few times (dealer mess up really so not the cars fault!).

Also please view and ask about anything Z4 on;

Other than that what can i say, bit of beast to drive but costs a fair bit to run if you do quite a few miles per year, fuel is currently around 25mpg on mixed driving, servicing aint cheap (variable mileage circa 10-12k between services or 2yrs whichever is sooner), make sure the car has had the 1200 mile service (walk if not done at all or not done close to 1200 miles).

They are a good car, had mine for a year now and it's still fun to drive.

However, mine had a fair bit go wrong with it - so was glad I bought from a dealer, or at least buy one privately with a warranty.

The Z4M is a great car, but really is a step up from the 3.0 in terms of running costs.

My Z4MC has cost nothing other than the normal insurance, fuel, tax & tyres.

Nothing's gone wrong - yet - in 8,000 miles & 2 track days, and I'm not known for a plodding style of driving wink

Mine's got a BMW warranty as it's less than 3 years old, but the very first Z4MCs will be coming out of the BMW new car warranty soon.

Great little cars, although as previously mentioned, try to get the biggest powerplant you can.

The handling (especially once off run flat tyres) is sublime.

The only thing I had go wrong with mine was a failed cat, which was replaced under warranty at £700 + labour - so that was a relief.
