Smilies Next To Thread Titles - What Do They Mean?

Hi.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm curious as to the meaning of 'smilies' appearing next to some thread titles on forum index pages.

For example, I've just been in the BMW forum, posted in 'Show Me Your BMW', bookmarked it and now there is a smiling face next to the title in my bookmarks page.
What does this mean?
