I'm organising a stag do soon & reckon a day of karting & clay pigeon shooting would be pretty fun. I originally thought of going to the karting place in Milton Keynes as I'd heard that's a good one, but then a friend said he thought it wasn't that great, so can anyone rebut this or recommend an alternative one? Preferably a big fast outdoors one driving I've been to Buckmore Park, and although it was fun, it wasn't anything special in my opinion...

Also, I've never been clay pigeon shooting, but it looks a giggle. I know little about it really, can anyone recommend anywhere? I've had a quick google, but I don't really know what makes it good/bad. If anyone could recommend a place near to a good karting track that'd be a bonus!

Cheers guys smile

People say a lot of things, perhaps you should ask why exactly your friend doesn't think Daytona is that great? I don't go karting much, but Daytona has always been good. Large track too, in case you haven't seen it:

Daytona MK's pretty much as good as it gets for corporate-type karting, although if you were bored by Buckmore there's probably not too much hope for you!

I've never been but I think there's a clay ground near J12 of the M1 at Toddington that might be suitable for a stag event. I think they're called Lee Leisure or something like that. I'm sure Google will help.

We've done Daytona at Sandown a couple of times for corporate do's.

Good stuff.

I believe there's a clay pigeon place as you come into Enfield. Might be worth googling if you're going to be in the north of London?

If you decide to go karting in Milton Keynes, there are two suitable clay shooting grounds more or less on your way back to London. Broomhills at Markyate, between Harpenden and Luton and Sporting Targets at Riseley near Bedford. There are lots of other shooting grounds, but these two would be best suited for a group of novices who don't have their own guns......or a clue!

Both are used to stag parties and have good instructors, they're both reasonably priced as well.

Cheers everyone, very helpful smile My mate said that he thought the track at Daytona wasn't very well maintained, but he often doesn't know what he's talking about...

I'll delve into the recommended shooting places, ta!

I've been to both Daytona MK for karting and Lee Leisure for clay pigeon shooting and can thoroughly recommend both for a good day out.
