The Hotel de France""la Chartre Sur le Loir

Funnily enough, we were chatting about that yesterday. Looks like we'll be heading down that way for a spot of light refreshment, in order to avoid some of the excesses of 'Mad Friday'.
On the few occasions I've been down there it's just been a case of cars coming and going throughout the day, which I presume is still the case ?
Probably call in at Mulsanne on the way back.

Yes its still the case, I love the history of the place, Astons Martin race team used to use the hotel as a garage many years ago.. Friday is our Cultural day out after the pit lane walk about, usually a Chateau and then meet up with the parents at the The Hotel de France for a late lunch and sit around to the early evening. Its a great place and a bit more on the resereved side than other places. On the few occasions I've been down there it's just been a case of cars coming and going throughout the day, which I presume is still the case ?

It seems to have become a little less busy in the last few years since the start of the Saint Saturnin 'British Welcome', but still a nice run out if the weather's good.
Just looked at your South Africa pics Guy, The meat pic looks like Boerewors. makes my mouth water thinking of it, have loads in the freezer. Did you enjoy.Truckosaurus said:

We would always go there on fridays at lunch time and if we were feeling like some exercise walk up to the monument, great view.Last year we dropped in on Thursday, still plenty of cars arriving, but friday is now St Saturin then back for the pit visits.

Has it calmed down recently, 'cos we thought the hotel had gone a bit corporate and was being taken over by sales staff types who thought it necessary to behave like total oiks whilst being somewhere foreign, etc.Truckosaurus said:
